The kennel, Sherwood Cockers, originated through the blending of
professional handling and two goal oriented individuals.
Though this blending happened via matrimony, it only intensified the
desire to breed and show the Cocker Spaniel as it was meant to be,
as dictated by the “standard” set forth by the American Spaniel
Club.
Marie and Bryon Santos are Sherwood Cockers.
Breeding solids, blacks and buffs, for over twenty years. Dogs
guided by us have attained Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show
status as well as prestigious placements at Westminster, the
Eukanuba Classic and our own, American Spaniel Club shows.
Professionally handling this breed for over 25 years. Together, we
have guided many Sherwood prefixed dogs to their titles as well as
titling hundreds of cocker spaniels for our fellow cocker breeders.
As breeders, we can hold our heads high with top producing sires,
dams, as well as top winning blacks and buffs. Marie and I are
committed to producing a healthy, sound of temperament, merry Cocker
Spaniels, a dog that conforms to the standard of our parent club,
the American Spaniel Club, the oldest breed club in the US. To us,
the cocker is the most versatile dog on the planet, a hearty worker
during the day and a devoted companion at night and we plan to keep
it this way.
